Foshan Chancheng Hospital recently received a heartfelt thank-you letter, written in English, from the father of an 8-year-old patient from Bangladesh. For five years the family had traveled from country to country in search of effective treatment, but the child's condition showed little improvement. Their search finally brought them across the mountains and seas to Foshan. Under the dedicated care of Dr. Xin Jing, Chief Physician of the hospital's pediatric rehabilitation team, and Dr. Liang Fujian, the child successfully completed treatment and was discharged in good condition.
The letter, written across borders, is both a recognition from the bottom of a grateful father's heart and a testament to the hospital's medical expertise and compassionate service.
Five years of seeking treatment before coming to China
According to the family, in the five years since the child's diagnosis they had sought care in Bangladesh, India and elsewhere, trying a range of treatment options — yet the child's condition never improved significantly.
After extensive research and recommendations, they learned of Foshan Chancheng Hospital's solid medical expertise and attentive, patient-centered services. With renewed hope, they made the journey to China.
Breaking barriers with expertise, warming hearts with service
Seeking treatment in a foreign country is daunting, especially with a language barrier and an unfamiliar healthcare system. The professionalism and kindness of the medical team, however, quickly eased the family's anxiety.
On the very first day of admission, Dr. Xin Jing spent nearly three and a half to four hours with the family at their first consultation — patiently reviewing the child's medical history, conducting a comprehensive assessment, answering their questions one by one, and drawing up an initial treatment plan. As the father wrote, he had never imagined that a senior chief physician would give such undivided time and attention to a patient, especially to a foreign family facing language barriers.
When the family ran into difficulties with room booking and admission procedures, Dr. Xin introduced them to Dr. Liang Fujian, who took charge of everything from that first day: he personally completed all the admission formalities, accompanied them to their floor, showed them around, and then spent another three to four hours assessing the child, the mother, and the older sibling in their room. He remained patient, gentle and incredibly helpful throughout — even after his official duty hours ended, staying with the family until nearly 1:00 a.m. to discuss every detail of the child's condition, the treatment plans, their expectations, and his recommendations.
Attentive care throughout the stay earns recognition across borders
During the more than ten days of hospitalization, Dr. Liang was available for every need — arranging tests and payments, buying medicines, checking on the child's progress, and personally accompanying the family to various departments, minimizing every obstacle created by the language barrier.
Having sought treatment in many places around the world, the father wrote in his letter: "I have never met a doctor as kind, dedicated, and supportive as Dr. Liang Fujian. His sincerity and service made me feel like I was at home, not in a hospital."
In an unfamiliar hospital far from home, the family felt no distance or isolation — only meticulous care and warmth. The professionalism and compassion of Dr. Liang and Dr. Xin gave this family, who had traveled so far, the reassurance of home.
A letter that is recognition — and a responsibility
The child has now completed the full course of treatment and returned home. Before leaving, his father wrote this sincere letter of thanks, and pledged to recommend the hospital to relatives, friends and colleagues back in Bangladesh: "After returning to my country, I will personally promote your hospital, especially because of the outstanding service provided by Dr. Liang Fujian and Dr. Xin Jing."
"Thank you for giving us such skilled, compassionate, and hardworking doctors," he wrote. "Please convey my deepest gratitude to both of them."
A letter of thanks is more than recognition. It is encouragement — and a responsibility that inspires us to keep moving forward.
