Fosun Kairos, a CAR-T cell therapy company within the Fosun healthcare ecosystem, has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Saudi Arabia's Fakeeh Care Group at the Bund Financial Center (BFC) in Shanghai. The agreement focuses on the field of CAR-T cell therapy, with both parties reaching a shared intent to advance the clinical adoption and localized development of the technology in Saudi Arabia.

A New "Saudi Pathway" for Chinese Cell Therapy

Under the MOU, Fosun Kairos plans to provide China's most advanced CAR-T cell therapy products and technology, while Fakeeh Care Group — drawing on its deep local roots — plans to lead localized manufacturing, registration and commercialization in the Kingdom. Cell therapy products used in Saudi Arabia will therefore no longer be simple drug imports, but innovative outcomes of localized production that combine Fosun Kairos's advanced manufacturing processes with local resources.

The signing is a key step in a broader strategic alignment between Fosun Pharma and Fakeeh Care Group: from an initial strategic consensus reached at senior level in April, to the official inauguration of Fosun Pharma's Middle East office and the Saudi joint venture in Jeddah in September, to today's cooperation intent covering CAR-T and other innovative therapies. The trajectory reflects a systematic push from strategic planning to execution — improving access to cell therapy while meeting Saudi regulatory and clinical requirements.
