From August 14 to 16, 2026, the 32nd China International Medical Equipment Fair and Technical Exchange Conference (China-Hospeq 2026) took place in Beijing. Hosted by the Center for International Exchange and Cooperation of the National Health Commission, the event gathered healthcare organizations from more than 10 countries and regions across 22,500 square meters of exhibition space.
Foshan Chancheng Hospital was invited to participate as one of Guangdong Province’s first batch of international medical service pilot hospitals, with an independent booth. Three Highlights: The Chancheng International Healthcare Model
1. A Standalone 20,000 m² International Medical Center
In March 2026, Foshan Chancheng Hospital opened the Foshan International Medical Center (FIMC), a dedicated building covering 20,000 m² with 100 planned beds. FIMC integrates outpatient, inpatient, health screening and rehabilitation services into a single, closed-loop pathway.
The center uses a “general practitioner + specialist” dual-physician model: each patient is matched with a dedicated GP and a focused specialty team, enabling truly personalized care plans.
2. 60 Hong Kong-Macao Device Approvals, First-in-Mainland Use
As the first hospital in Foshan designated under the Hong Kong-Macao Medicine and Equipment Connect policy, Foshan Chancheng Hospital has secured 60 approvals and served more than 2,100 patient visits. Several globally innovative devices have been used for the first time in mainland China at the hospital, including:

- Pre-arrival — medical visa invitation letters, cost estimates and travel coordination
- In-hospital — multilingual escorts, direct billing with 35+ commercial insurers, and multi-currency payment including USD and HKD
- Post-discharge — rehabilitation guidance, health record continuity and follow-up management
The goal is a “cashless, sign-and-go” experience that reduces friction for international patients at every step.
Global Reach and Two-Way Connectivity
Through Fosun Health’s global medical network, the hospital has established overseas offices in Indonesia and Bangladesh, developed green referral channels with Hong Kong Adventist Hospital and Hong Kong Gleneagles Hospital, and conducts regular China-U.S. multidisciplinary consultations (MDT). The aim is to make international medical resources accessible locally while also extending Chinese healthcare expertise abroad.
Addressing Industry-Wide Challenges
During the MASSCON roundtable, Vice President Lu Zhimin identified three core challenges facing international healthcare today: brand recognition, talent availability and industry standards. From the perspective of a private hospital, she emphasized that a dedicated physical space is the foundation of a complete international patient service pathway, and that truly one-stop care requires seamless coordination across pre-arrival, in-hospital and post-discharge stages.
She also noted that cross-border insurance diversity and exchange-rate fluctuations remain practical pain points that require industry-wide collaboration to solve. Foshan Chancheng Hospital, she said, is ready to contribute practical experience toward building replicable, scalable international healthcare standards.
